Unfortunately, much as i'd love to lay the blame there, there's more to it than Mr Brown. (he's not put fuel tax up this week as far as i know). It's a worldwide issue, and refinery space seems to be the key to it.
However, seeing as the Treasury are getting in bumper amounts of duty from the refinery & production stages, there is definiately some scope there to cut the tax on the pumps.
Only if he wants to, of course.......
