I assumed that lazer printers work similer to ink jet (i.e. use the computer is a buffer), however, I'm told that a lazer will download all the print data and then start printing. So a printer with a buffer of 16M will just not handle large files. I've checked with the data sheet for this printer, maximum memory size - 16M
So how can HP sell this print as suitable for 'professional' use?
Thanks again for everyones help.

The HP 1600 is a low budget printer and for less than £150 you kinda get what you pay for,
