What browser are you using, and also what Blog software are you using?
You say - "I thought it may be my pop up disabled, but having checked it is not since the only option my tools gives, is to enable pop ups!"
If the option is to enable pop-ups, then surely they are disabled at the moment? I'd enable this setting and check if a pop-up box appears asking you to add a image.
