How is this legal?
For those people who have not heard of Flexpetz, it is a company that provides a variety of dogs to their customers. Dogs can spend either a few hours to a number of days with each person and their dogs are available in varied breed sizes to ensure compatibility!
I cannot believe that this company will be permitted to trade in this way, making money from handing dogs over to all and sundry, vetted or not.
The following is taken from the Blue Cross website.
Dogs are dependent on meaningful lifelong relationships with their human owners. Both parties of the human dog partnership develop a strong bond which is underpinned by both trust and understanding. The more deep-rooted a relationship becomes, the more stable and secure the dog will be."
"The opposite effect occurs when a dog is passed around from one person or home to another. They may become confused, distressed and unpredictable - something we sadly see all too often in dogs that come to The Blue Cross. We will often spend months working with such dogs to repair the damage of the past. It is only through the consistency and predictability of routine and the awareness of social boundaries that a dog can truly thrive."
