The way to approach it is this (the same way as I approach life). Everyone deserves respect until they show you otherwise. have the same respect for a brand new PR0 site that has very few listings (YET), as you would have for the mighty DMOZ, and you will not go far wrong.
Do it once, do it right, and forget about it!
