Thank you for you offer I am sure Ray will read it on his return. Choosing mods is Ray's decision, though I do not think we are short of mods. In fact for the online member ratio to mods I think we have more compared to other busy forums, and more active ones at that.

Moderating A1 is voluntary and no-one can say when the mods will be on here, we dont have a rota or anything arranged between us to be covering A1. Its a 'as and when we can' basis though most of the waking time one or two of us are here, but it is impossible to insist one of the mods be on duty and sat at one's computer to cover 24/7 and especially, a weekend not least a Saturday night. That said, anyone who comes looking for trouble will sit and wait until no mods are online, even wait til after midnight, and do their stuff. Luckily some mods are online quite early to remove and ban the nighshift spammers, etc.

I would also add I spend more time PMing members about, or deleting posts, that are blatant self-promo or not fiting in with the nature of the specific forum, than typical spam despite repeated requests not to. Hence my other sticky thread about promoting one's business on A1.

Dealing with rubbish like what we had last night is quite rare in comparison.
