I see a group of vested interests misleading the OP, in a nasty game of one upmanship - and as is usual for "the other place " without a useful word spoken between them, And in as far as anything is being said on a technical level on that forum it is so far wrong.
It is time people got beyond the fixation with the obvious on adwords eg "edinburgh photographer" ...and realised there is a much bigger picture there. ...and ways to go round the competition , instead of compete head on with it!!!
BTW...please dont advise people to turn the content network off. Advise them How to use it well - placement targetting is the hidden gem of adwords!
And as an experienced adwords marketer - I can tell you the fundamental problem the OP has is his site - that needs fixing before throwing more traffic at it - the site does not give either a call to action, or a compelling reason "why them" both vital for conversion.
He should use mindset marketing to catch them before they ask for a photographer too - so that he is in the box seat by the time the photos are needed.
And I think that sadly that will be my last post on the subject of adwords.
Me and mike seddon have been busily giving top notch advice on adwords for free...in my case the benefit of knowing one of the world authorities on the subject. Yet sadly prophets are not recognised in their own country. Whenever a reference is made to "need some help on adwords"...people mention anyone and everyone else but us!!!
So it is time to resign as free adwords advisor!
