Depending how they track you as an affiliate you might not want to use a Framed Forwarding redirect because the frame might drop your affiliate cookie, and you will lose sales credits.
IE7 by default won't accept 3rd party cookies. Secondly, the frame might be a source of annoyance during any SSL checkout, as you'll have both safe and non-safe pages.
During the building of my affiliate sites frames were an issue, so always tried steering clear of using them because it kept costing me money in lost sales. Personally, I'd hide the affiliate link, if that is what you have (?) inside the htaccess file.
