Red face Anyone have a template - goods taken fro repair

Hi guys, wasnt really sure which forum this would be best to post in, so if it's wrong sorry

I'm slowly getting my act together, occasionally, i will take a customers laptop/computer away for repair, would anyone have a suitable template/document I could give to the customer, sort of like a receipt, to say I have taken their computer/laptop/whatever.

I'm not very well educated and im sure there is better wording than what i've come up so far "receipt for computer taken on ____" lol.

    any help appreciated

well tbh as well as a receipt just to say you have taken it from them, you also need a legal document that says what you will be doing with their machine, and some legalities about the insurance cover whilst in your care, what isn't covered and so forth. Some of that will be tailored to your own requirements, so you should ideally, get a lawyer to draw up a sensible document that covers you both. You could always knock up your own, but make sure it stays within UK contractual laws; you can't just put whatever you like and it's binding - it must be reasonable on b oth sides.

e.g. you can't say, 'if we were burned to the ground, your equipement would not be covered' (because you didn't have adequate insurance for example).

Probably best to google a few sites like http://www.computhouse.com/terms.html then draft something along the same lines.
