Default what's the vat on your country?

i am from romania, and the valued added tax is 19%, what is in your country?

In New Zealand it is 12.5%
In Australia it is 10% - and only applies to some goods (ie Processed Cheese but not whole cheese, Cooked Meats but not raw meats, Baked bread but not flour)

In the US the tax rate varies by state.

Default In Australia...

In Australia the GST (our version of VAT) has only been in place for around 8 years now.

When comparing these taxes, you really need to consider other factors and taxes as there are various direct and indirect taxes that are paid... not only this one.
