Default Tax & NI figures - help!!!!

I do payroll for my friends two taxi firms and the woman doing his books has been trying to send me the figures for NI & Tax paid for 2 months - her latest attempt was £35 + £62 = £621.00 for the year.

I paid over £3000 before I came back to Egypt, so she obviously hasn't got enough digits even with her socks off.

I have a couple of days left to do the online filing and simply cannot get the bloody woman to understand what I need.

Is there a way I can find out online how much we have paid this year in NI & Tax?

You cannot find out online. You may be able to get through to someone at the HMRC Accounts Office who can tell you, but it is usually a hassle.

If it just a case of filling in the P35, I would just enter what figure you think is correct. They will soon let you know if there is still a liability outstanding. The other figures on the P35 are far more important.

Thanks Peter, that has taken a load off. I'll just bung something in that sounds sensible.

How long has he got to pay any outstanding amount, my memory says a week but I may have just made that up through excess stress

There is no online record. If you do their payroll did you not keep a monthly record of what was paid.

They start charging interest on underpayments from 19 April, and they will start asking for any balance to be paid shortly after the P35 gets submitted.
