Default IBAN, International Transfers, For Further Credit to.

SWIFT NO : ******
AMEX ACCOUNT NO ***** OF FIRST
WOMEN BANK LTD , KARACHI

FOR FURTHER CREDIT TO
FIRST WOMEN BANK LTD SIALKOT CANTT
ACCOUNT NO ******* OF Company name

Hi everyone.

I am trying to make an international payment to a company in Pakistan.

My bank (HSBC) insists I need an long IBAN number but the company says they don't have one and that the 6 digit account number and Swift is enough.

Should I insist they provide an IBAN or should I just use another bank??

Also, I don't really understand "for further credit to", this is a different account number which is confusing. If someone could explain that'll be excellent.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bruce,

I made international payments in monthly basis, so I understand quite clear. For international the long IBAN and swift code is essential and very important. If not, you will transfer to wrong account.

What you need to do is, your receiver in Pakistan NEED to get those numbers (IBAN and Swift code) from their Pakistan bank.

You mentioned that your current bank in UK is HSBC, is it your receiver in Pakistan is also HSBC? If so, things will be slightly easier. If they can't provide you those numbers, you can called them to give the full bank details and address. Then HSBC will search their respective branch in Pakistan.

I quite understand HSBC, because I done my monthly transfer by HSBC, they are very good in international trade and payments.

By the way, you don't need to change to other banks, all banks need those numbers, it is essential.

hope it help. cheer
