Default About to set up a business bank account

... and need a few tips on what I need to ask, please

I'm seeing Barclays, mainly as I have an account with them already and also because they are more open to people with my type of money background

Is there anything I should look out for, or will there be a problem with the fact that I shall be moving abroad this year.

    Hi Nicky,

Try and get it free for as long as possible!

Alliance & Leicester have a start-up account which is free for 2 years. You can bank online and pay cheques in and withdraw money through the Post Office.

    Whats free.....is the first question!

Banks are all pretty much the same really...useless But we use A&L business bank and it is free for 2 years (with limits). What we like about it is you can pay cash in at any post office

I can only use Barclays as no other bank will touch me with a barge pole.

All I need is online banking and a debit card.

Just wondered if there will be any problems as I shan't be living in the UK.

Will have to draw up a long list of questions tonight I think

Get your on line access set up. Barclays is pretty good for this with a PINsentry thingy

I strongly recommend A&L for great interest rates and free banking. For general day to day banking we also use Abbey. Free for life and easy to use. However, not sure how flexible they are if your banking history raises a question mark.

I did read some where (I may have got this wrong) that there is a limit on the amount you can pay in each month for the free business banking.

    Is this right?

A&L also limit you to withdrawing more than £200/day in cash.
