    Can anyone point me towards a website or other facility that provides easy to understand information about registering a company in the UK.

    The best thing you can do is seek advise from an accountant or a good business advisor at your nearest enterprise agency www.nfea.com because ther is more to it than just following some instructions or generic advice laid out.

    if you want to go with online business than it is not necessary you register company...
    you can start with your own personal site...
    Even though you must get advice from some good financial expert...

    Hi Ron,

    There are number of formation agents out there who offer cheap company formations (Companies Made Simple is one of which). In regards to general advise HuggyBear's looks good to me. Good luck!
