I'm about to start a new business, what do you think?
ok,
I'm asking for a little help here, and a bit of feedback. I run about 5 other websites that are pretty much automated, and just need checking up on now and again, but pretty much the ideal business models that just take care of themselves 99% of the time.
Anyway, I stumbled across an idea for a new website, that again will pretty much take care of itself again, but looking for feedback on anyone who runs a gambling / gaming site?
The idea is so good, im half afraid to go into detail, but in essence (and I know everyone will want more information) there is a number of prizes available to win, from cars, to electronics and once in a lifetime gifts/opportunities.
The competition limits a number of people to play, therefore limiting the odds of winning, and when there are multiple prizes (around 50) and around 5000 entrants, the prize to contestant ratio is good, well better than most. Certainly better than 64,000,000 to one = the lottery.
Ok, well you won't be a millionaire, but have a chance of a great prize. What do you think? and the core audience is 21-35year olds, so would a myspace page be a good idea? or does that take away credibility?
Thanks in advance!

Im unsure what question you're asking, as it just sounds like any other competition, for which you cannot charge to enter, so I would wonder how do you generate your income, how do you pay for the prizes, etc.
Sites like auctionair are slightly different but cover themselves with minimum bids to cover costs but as yours is competitions with prizes there will be different rules and the play system will also differ.
Withbout knowing your full marketing strategy it is also difficult to answer your question as to whether advertising on MYspace would be appropriate. The whole branding and marketing strategy has to be cohesive to give the right impression to its audience and to hold the credibility of the competition itself.
Im guessing the play system for entry to your comps must have a twist of some sort to make it unique and an exciting prospect so I understand you dont want to say too much here.
