Default Suggestion reg exhibiting in exhibitions

    Hello,

I have start my business in 2005. We sell hairdressing scissors and salon related products. I try my level best to expand businesses via internet. But I could not get to much response. Each year only 5 small orders meanwhile my competitors make million of dollars. I check where the fault lies I found that my competitors exhibit 2 – 3 exhibitions each year. Now I decided also exhibit in some exhibitions but the problem is that I have no experience of exhibition and shortage of fund.

I am afraid that if I exhibit and fail to get big orders then I am in grate trouble and my all investment will gone then what I will do?

Anyone in this forum advice and suggest what will I do?

    An early reply is requested.

    Regards

    M. Mughees

    Hi,

I guess your competitors do exibitions and it works for them, so why won't it work for you??

You need to get a list of all the available exibitions and try for the smallest ones first, that way you won't spend all your capital on just one exibition.

See what response you get, you will need to do some deals and offer incentives to get the large buyers interested.

if that one works out, then try the next, gradully building up your income as you go.

I feel that with such a competitive market, you will either have to do these exibititions or try adverting in trade journals and magazines, but either way its gonna cost, and if your worried that its going to use up all your available capital, then perhaps your not ready to expand as such.

What happens if you do an exibition and you get an order for 10,000 items, have you got procedures in place to allow you to forfil the order (Credit, stock, deliveries etc)

Its a tough cookie to answer, but its a 50/50 kinda question, your dammed if you do and dammed if you don't?

    Good luck
