Default Bad days - we've all had them!

Okay gang, we have all had bad days after business start up where you feel overwhelmed, incompetent and ask yourself why you are putting yourself through this much stress.

We have all shaken ourselves and said right sort yourself out and get on with it and then sat there staring at a blank piece of paper wondering where to start.

So the question is, what do you personally do to get yourself back on track?

    Thank you Pete.

That leads to another question. Men and women are generally seen as equal these days but women (if we are honest) are generally more emotional than men, so I am wondering if women find it harder during these times to just put their heads down and work harder, as we have all those emotional issues to deal with (like crying because your pen ran out of ink )

    Any thoughts ladies?

I try to rid my schedule of unecessary clutter, clear my list of things to do, and generally try and empty my brain of excess baggage. Looking at something with a clear head makes a difference for me.

I also listen to my hypnotherapy CD's by Glenn Harrold such as Energy & Motivation and Unleash Your Potential. I also re-read my marketing materials for new ideas and success stories for a little boost.

Taking time out is also necessary but also spend time with those who are motivational and supportive. I chat to business friends on skype and we bounce ideas of each other. Im on skype if anyone ever wants to bounce with me

    Sally,

Emotions are not just for females you know......we also have emotions, maybe we are just better (well some) at not letting people see them

I believe there is absolutly no shame in letting your emotions out...in fact I cried for a whole day when we recently lost out beloved pet cat tigger after 18 years

Thanks Sally for this great thread. Well as you can imagine in the Fuzzy household, it takes a lot for me to get down and then it's not for long. If I do I ask the audience (my friends) for advice, I then phone a friend (for advice) and then do 50/50.....................50/50 is try to take away an emotion involved and balance that with I Ching

But have you ever cried because your pen ran out of ink??

I certainly know men have emotional times too but I think raging hormones tend to affect women more than men in my experience.

Obviously when something emotional happens everyone cries and so they should. It's the girly crying for absolutely no reason I hate.

Trust me, you have days like this when your business is well established as well

I just walk away, as others have said, and do *anything* else for a while (for as long as it takes) - go for a walk, ring a friend for a gossip, get a cup of tea and read the paper - or simply jump on a forum and banter with my mates. Anything but work.

Then, when it has cleared my system, I make a new list, and start afresh

If i'm flagging, I tend to take a break for 15 minutes or so. Spend some time with my wife, have a drink. After that, I'm usually raring to go!

Happy to provide advice where needed if you require. I've always found having a good working environment helps. No TV, music at a reasonable volume, not too hot, not too cold etc
