I am trying to understand these forums. Are they new or not?

I was on uksmallbusinessforums - which have somehow moved here/been bought by A1... and now my post counter reset, PMs gone and so on... though my same login is still here.

Hi David,

A1 is a new Forum that went live 29 February and has grown organically to some 450 members and 42,000 posts in less than 3 months.

UKSBF was closed due to a data corruption that meant all the threads, posts, PM's etc were lost forever.

All that was left was the member database and domains - for which I agreed a fee with Duane and purchased last week.

It is that member list that has been imported into A1 - although post count etc was lost. That is why you can login here with your UKSBF username and password.

The key benefits to UKSBF members of participating at A1 are:

It's a much more active Forum and certainly the fastest growing
Bigger Avatar and Sig space
Immediate facility to post links
Immediate access to A1's Free Private Forums - which are not indexed by search engines

Hi Ray

Thanks for letting me know!

I did notice brief mention of you/A1 buying UKSBF when I went to log in... but wasn't sure of the detail or changes (particularly why my messages had disappeared!).

I have been unable to post links (eg uksbf I was mentioning above) and the signature still doesn't give me the space to put all link details (full length links) though I do want to keep it neat, clean & tidy (ie relatively small to look at).

I do think it's great news you've taken over, and from just looking through it today I do sense a different vibe and not an overpowerment from people flogging products - if you know what I mean.

Hopefully I will have a bit to bring here, as I do enjoy participating and helping where possible - considering I am in a 'cold business world online' whilst working from Poland.

Thanks... I only feel slightly new (given the above taking over of UKSBF).

Also didn't mean to hijack your thread, just the topic of the forums, and joining etc - since I didn't quite join but ended up here anyway! No problem at all and looking forward to participating.

As my good friend Calibre Designs said, it is no problem at all mate! I think he missed out the word "warped" in the sentence "IP has a sense of humour" but I totally agree with the sentiment!
