What Indi has said is right!

It takes more to realise that it's a no goer and stop it there than to force it through like fighting against the storm.

The support of the members here will help tremendously. I know it's only one avenue to rely on but it is a big one. Each member has something to contribute.

I get so annoyed when I hear 'guru's' preaching, winners never quit, quitters never win yaada yada yada... WRONG.

WINNERS know WHEN to quit! FACT!

Knowing when to quit is what prevents you from burning all your resources, you should NEVER leave yourself penniless to support a business. You need to step back and coldly look at the stats. Knowing when to walk is what makes winners.

I have been penniless, I really have not had enough food to eat, have done the 'hiding the car miles away from the appointment' and walk in as I am too embarrassed of what I drive etc. I know how painful it is, I know that depression is a killer. Sounds to me like you are depressed.

I will not give you direct advice, but I WILL share my experience with you

"Pull yourself out of it", sounds like crap advice, but it isn't, it must be your mantra, but at the front add 'I CAN' so say to yourself 'I can pull myself out of this' you MUST believe in yourself, if you don't then you are going to a dark place.

What I did (after months and months of trying to eat the whole elephant) was realise I could only eat it a bite at a time. I set myself goals, my first goal was to get out of bed before 9am! Then 8:30, then8. It works as you will be achieving something.

I made sure I shaved every day and showered every day. these were GOALS, I would tick them off my list daily!

Forget about worrying over work, call everyone, tell them you have no money and you need 2 weeks peace and quiet, tell them to send you documents to help you work out a repayment agreement. By LAW they have to do this and the phone will stop ringing for a week or two. I did and it was sanity (if only for a brief period)

I set goals that were achievable no matter HOW small (like getting out of bed by 9/10 at all )). mentally it WILL help YOU pull yourself out of depression.

Don't be afraid to go to the doctors and get chemical help. The chemicals are meant to give you the initial lift to 'pull yourself out'! I did it worked, I took them for 12 months in total.

EXCERCISE! do it, it will raise your metabolism and will make you happier as it releases serotonin. Eat some chocolate, have sex, (even better if you can involve someone else as chocolate for 2 is more fun ) Seriously though exercise WILL help you. Just a little bit, walk and walk fast, half a mile or whatever, maybe a jog, run inside on the spot if you are too shy or not comfortable with going out. I exercised, eat chocolate and had sex It really improved my balance

Have a few days off thinking, just do the above then ignore the problem for a day or two. Focus on YOU, your own well being. Worked for me.

Once you have done this for a couple of days, maybe just one or two days is enough, THEN sit down and look at everything. Look realistically what you can do, when money will come in etc, go on the sick and claim benefits, swallow your pride and do it, I did and even though you feel like a loser, when I had money, I could look at it and know I would not starve or die.

You might lose a lot, but you will always have you, and there is NOTHING materialistically that can be taken away that you can’t get back FACT. I lost everything, my life in a black bin bag eh! Imagine that.

Consider bankruptcy as an alternative!

YOU are the key to your own success. Go back to a time when you felt good, when something was working imagine it remember it REALLY recall it and enjoy being successful. THAT WAS YOU, it is STILL you, so be THAT person again.

I bit the bullet and went out selling for someone else. Within a few months I was back in control of things and on the road to recovery. I earned enough to take a risk set up a small (no capital) business where I sold adverts (cheap) on anything I could think of selling them on. It went good, it went VERY good. And many many years later it is part of my life that I am proud of.

How we handle adversity is what shapes us as individuals. Believe in yourself, keep your plans simple, forget about ‘The big one’, chase lots of little uns and watch them grow. Then when you miss one so what

And remember you are NEVER truly alone, no matter how much it may feel that way.

Sorry you are feeling so low (and to Sam!). Old Welsh Guy and everyone else has said it all. We are all here for you. I've had a pretty rough week and just knowing that people on here are ready and willing to listen and offer support makes such a difference!

Thanks everyone for all your advice and support. I've made an appointment to go to the docs this afternoon, I think I will have to try the happy pills for awhile as I don't seem to be able to pull myself out of this at the moment.
I have a lady who works for me and I have decided I am going to send her home this morning while I assess the situation and work out the best way forward.
