Hey Oldwelshguy, that was amazing advice - have a Fuzzy hug too
I know I am a grumpy bugger sometimes, but the main reason is I wear my heart on my sleeve and say what I think. We are put on this earth to be social we should be trying to form friendships rather than fight wars
And anyone who says otherwise will get a punch on the nose from me and my gang
Good luck Mouse. There's nothing so damaging as doing the same thing over and over again while each time expecting a different result ;-) Hope you get lots of great support here, too whatever you choose to do next.
Thanks again everyone, I went to the docs yesterday and got the happy pills, he was lovely and really supportive and made an appointment to go back and see him in 2 weeks. I told my staff what is happening and they have been really supportive too. I called a business debt advice line today and they talked me through everything and then things didn't seem as bleak and they are sending some bumf through the post with advice on which debts are priority too. Luckily I have a lot of equity in my house so he says I'm not insolvent which is what had been preying on my mind the last few days. I am thinking of selling up and down sizing, I think I need to make a fresh start as I feel more depressed in the house than anywhere else!
I have written a letter to the council telling them exactly what I think (politely of course) about them reducing my council tax benefit and a letter to the bank to get them to repay some of my charges for going over my limit (which I wouldn't have done if it wasn't for the charges!). We can but try!
I am just taking it one day at a time and trying not to worry about next week. s to you all. xxxxx
Good Luck mouse, one step at a time is all you need to get moving, sending a big hug, well done for getting to the docs, its an incredibly hard first step

Sounds like you are making a really good start. Having lived with somone who has suffered from depression what Oldwelshguy says rings very true. "Walks work wonders" is a good mantra to hang onto if you are having a bad time in the office. A 30 min brisk march at lunchtime can clear the head wonderfully.
It sounds like you have a decent sized business as you have staff so one person I would certainly ring is your bean counter. I often have to hand hold in these sorts of situations, and I imagine yours will have done too, and if they have got any sense wont try and whack you with a big bill for the privilege (obviously ask first). I know I act as "agony uncle" for clients on quite a regular basis whether they have debt issues, business going down the pan and often personal ones two. I view it as building a close relationship and those clients tend to end up being very loyal in the longer term, although sometimes I do have to tell people to get out and close down although those are rarely the ones who are thinking about it - those clients are normally the ones who think they have a fantastic business when its not - the ones who think its duff tend be the the ones who are thinking hard about everything and so worry themselves enough to actually survive!
Dont think about things too much, pick up the phone and do them.
