Hi all, I have been designing website templates for about a year now and I want to be able to make some money out of it somewhere down the line but I don’t know how to go about doing it... Can anyone help me?

I would suggest creating a website with your templates on and then see about getting them listed on template directories?

You can participate on Social Networking Site and post your thing.
Good example is stumble upon. Or you can promote it by participating
in different forums. Let us say you create a thread asking for comments
from the members of the forum. Or maybe you can make a poll on which
you will make a selection on what is the most beautiful template.

... that do this seem to have done lots of SEO to get to the top of the rankings for this kind of thing. Their webiste offer a few free templates and then plenty of charged-for websites with more to them.

That seems to work for them as a business model so presumably it'll work for you....?

You can lodge them on sites such as template monster, and other template directories.... Make them really special and stand out, and that will not only give you a trickle of income, more importantly it will give you traffic.
