Default Commision Only Sales

Do commission only sales people really exist?? I've already been told about agentbase, but from what I understand they want to sell you an advert to get an agent. With no guarantees of finding someone.

Yep... I use coms only sales people now, with varying degrees of success.

When I used to work in the IT industry quite a few companies used "agents" as their sales force - and it seemed to work very well.

The optics industry also use self employed agents to sell glasses to shops.

Not really, not in the UK anyway. Agentbase has a database of about 3-5,000 registered agents, but most are sale speople who have been between jobs and added their details in case something interesting comes up. The number of active and good sales agents in the UK is probably no more than 100. And you'll have a tough job finding them before you attempt to convince them to make time to take you on alongside the lines that are already earning them a successful living.

Best is to look at oursourced sales companies. I know you are on our site so try "telesales" or "sales" there.

Delighted to hear the site works.

I would explore alternatives if I were you. Telesales may be a way of winning new customers for a courier service. You can find telesales companies on our site, either by searching or posting a Biz Need. Make sure you put together a pitch that hits upon a pain point at the customer, something such as dependability or quality, and speak in terms of what they need, not what you want to sell them.

You'll have to pay for this, but at this end of the market you'll probably pay around £200 - £250 a day and get 50+ calls made for that. It could easily work out as quite cost effective.

I hope this helps.

I would take the approach that salesman that are any good and worth their salt are employed by someone.
that was any good, i think they generally tend to be people In my job i have come across many salesman over the years, selling all manor of goods and services, i can hand on heart say that i have never come across what seemed like a commission only salesman who aren't salesman 'giving it a go' - perhaps they have been given the 'you too can make £2000 per week using our structure' kind of talk.

If you want good salesman, then commission only is not the way to go (in my books)

Default Sales people

You can look at sales companies or you could ask around and see if there are any sales experts who are on maternity leave or who are staying at home with their young children and may want some extra money.

All you need to do is to look around this forum and ask people to see if they know anyone who would like to work from home or on a part time basis.

I had the misfortune of dealing with such a salesman once. He had previously worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland, however saw fit to take some extra cash from their large amounts of cash that they seemed to have lying around, and......yes you guessed it, he was drummed out of the brownies. Lucky he did not get a prison number.
He now sells gas and purely a commission basis. Must be soul destroying.

That's a fair point, but it seems to come from an employer's perspective. If you are that good salesman, unless your earnings are completely uncapped and you are free from any management, why wouldn't you want to work under your own steam?

OK, whatever commission deal you're on has to be something that can provide you with a living wage, but once you've got that under your belt, you can start looking for "the jam".
