I went to click on your yahoo group (cause I'm a nosey whatsit) and notice you have membership on pre-approval.

It might be an idea to remove this as it can put people off joining.

If they are searching for your particular type of group, they might just by-pass it in favour of one they can joining much easier.

Also if they are visiting your website and click on your link to join the group they might think can't be bothered filling in all that but if can make it as easier for them as possible then you have the opportunity to still post the odd message out to them such as special offers once in a blue moon.

You can still pre-approve all messages.

I have my two yahoo groups not set to pre-approval and I defo think this is the way to go if you choose to continue with the group.

hi nicksyb,

i think the killer thing here is the time.

if you have the time which from your posts you may in
the future then it could be a good move.

thinking ahead though you may need people to moderate and
administrate which may cost you a little however; if you get to
that stage i am sure you will be doing very well.

other ways you could spend your time is:

ppc campaign - small budgeted campaign that targets your most
successful keywords and sentences and drives traffic to your
website.

Press Release - i am sure that there could be some compelling news
for you to write and then get published for free on the internet.

Capture customer details and maybe product or email a newsletter.
write great features and articles that also could be printed on a blog
or your website.

work on seo and links to gain organic traffic although this takes time.

hope this helps and good luck.

regards
steve doyle

Is there any chance that you could offer a discount when you post on forums? As this may stop them shooting you down. I agree that it might be hard for you to get a forum up and running, but if you got the right content and 100 or so good posters then it could work a treat.

The problem I have been having with a lot of the Forums (Witchcraft related) is that they are very keen to shoot you down at first sight. Which means that to be honest I am a bit too scared to post on these sights.

So my idea was to have my own Friendly and fun forum, filled with great advice, info and the like. But it is a big step and was wondering if it was the right thing to do.

I would of course tie my shop into the forum so it would also help market it as well.

What do you think, good or bad idea?

Well forum is for discussing only but still they are provide facility like signature to make aware of people about you and your company. I think that is enough.

second forum people is quite aware about spamming and spammer too. it may possible that you got success some where but let me tell you it will create some bad effect on your website when some one will write a bad comment on your post. Search Engine consider forum as good source of information so it crawl forum frequently. and most of people try to find their information from search engine so thought when search engine will show a bad comment for your site then.

on net there is not only one idea to get traffic.. you can have others idea like

social media increase your business related contact try to provide them what they need.
search engine: submit your site in to majore search engine.
Article :Write a good article and submit it in major article sites
Directory submission: try to put your site in some good directory.
email marketing: send a informative email to people
Blogging: make a good blog and discuss your product on that and latest idea about your product and many more .....

Best of luck

Thanks
