Import Tax - UK to Mainland Europe

Quick question guys; Do I need to pay import tax if I'm shipping from the UK to mainland Europe? (rather, will my products be charged import duty tax, which will need to be paid by my end customer, as I am dropshipping)

It depends on whether the country is in the EU or not. There is no import tax within the EU but there is to countries not in the EU (including Switzerland and Norway.)

If the goods are in 'free circulation' i.e. have already been cleared somewhere in the EU, moving between EU countries will not incur duty (to the purchaser).

Duty and import tax are different things. Import tax is a general tax which is not charged on goods shipped within the UK.

Duty is on things like cigarettes and alcohol and may need to be paid (although I have no idea about this.)

Yes and no!

As such, there is no such thing as 'import tax' - There is VAT.

Duty is applicable on everything imported into the EU, although several items are rated at 0%.

I think the OP has used mixed terms in their post, which may need more clarification.

Re VAT, at lot depends on whether the OP is registered and if their customer is registered!
