    Default Paypal Refund

    I'm a bit confused

I've just received an email from Paypal saying that they have refunded a payment to a customer. This is the first that I have heard of any problem.

They placed an order on the 12th March and it was sent on the 14th March.

Is there anyway that I can find out what has happened from Paypal?

Not sure where to go from here to be honest :sad1:

Is it something that's been done by ebay. Ebay have the ability to process refunds for their "premium" sellers I think?

No this was an order through my website.

I have just been through all my emails and looked at my Paypal account and there were no emails from either the customer or Paypal.

On Paypal it is showing as a reversal, so from what I can gather she has ordered, paid & received the goods then stopped payment?

    Hi,

Are there any notes on the transaction when you log into PayPal? I would ring PayPal at the earliest opportunity and also contact the customer to find out what the problem is.

Was the order of a high value?

I didn't think they could do that. Otherwise what's stopping EVERYONE doing that with every transactions. Weird.!

It was a small order of just £6.85 but I have already paid my supplier so I am about £11 out of pocket so far.

There are no details/notes on anything at all. I've never been in this situation before and just wish that if there was a problem they would have contacted me.:sad1:

Yes, its frustrating and even though the order value was only small, it is worth following up with the customer directly and PayPal to find out what has happened. This way, you will be aware of it in the future. You never know, it could be an error!

Ok just spoke to Paypal and they have said it was an unathorised payment from the account.

They said that it could be that the person used someone elses account without authorisation.

So that buggers me up then.

I have lost total faith in it now

It happens - welcome to business!

Call the customer up, and ask them what happened.

Strange thing is that all the address were matching on paypal and my order system.

Have just tried calling them and no reply have also sent them an email.

Now I'm going back to bed
