Features you really hate seeing on websites.

I'm getting a new website designed and just wanted some ideas of what people dislike seeing on sites, here are two I hate

1. Scrolling text and images, be it vertical or horizontal

2. Login box on main pages other than during the check out processes

If you have any dislikes please tell

In no particular order:
Sound
Broken links
Popups
Banners advertising random products unrelated to the site I am visiting (including adwords)
Stats counters (visible)

Most things that move
Anything that flashes
Slow loading

Some more:
To many adverts
Lots of information in a small space, just spread it out and cut down to important stuff
and i dont know why but i dont like search boxes that ahve google or other search engines written by or in it

* Sound

* Unnecessary/excessive use of flash (I don't mind a little bit personally)

* Boring design, I am getting a bit fed up of seeing so many "samey" sites.

* Log in box on the home page.

* Broken links

* Unsecure items on page when checking out (this keeps happening to my website and is my pet hate, I have to remember not to add scripts to my side panels).

* Pop ups

* Google adsense on ecommerce sites.

* Unprofessional looking design.

* Poor content

* No contact details

* No obvious cost of shipping.

I'm really setting myself up for a fall here aren't I, especially as I've done nothing all week but work on my own new site!!

Thats excellent stuff so far, I couldn't agree more with thise mentioned. I'll start another thread for what you do like to see on an ecommerce site.

The login box on the home page has been mentioned couple of times however, if I am a registered user/customer of that site I want it to be somwhere obvious where I can go straight to it. I have so many loginsI would not appreciate having to search for a login box. I tend to bookmark a home page of a site mostly for this purpose when im revisiting a site regularly, be it daily or once a month.

I particularly hate having to search a site for what I need, usually the obvious stuff like a contact phone number, delivery costs before getting to checkout, and having to do far too much navigating to drill down to the actual page I need. For example, having a login link taking you to another page which just holds the login box is unecessary. Having to click through several links to view a product is a nuisance and not having the basics appearing throughout all pages is unhelpful.
