Does anyone have experience with using 3-D Secure on their websites? We are using a cre-loaded version of oscommerce with Protx on our Snowboard Shop website. We have had a few attempted online purchases recently where the 'customer' passes the 3rd-man fraud check and yet when we do our own manual checks the customer fails.
So we are thinking of adding on 3-D secure to our merchant account but was a bit hesitant to do so in case it puts customers off going through with the purchase. As I understand it, the customer will be diverted to a visa/mastercard page to enter more details. Do you think this will put off more people from going ahead with the transaction (i.e more fields to complete & therefore more time consuming etc)? Does anyone have any
experience with using 3-D Secure and if so were online sales affected?
Hi, There are probably lots of ways this works so hope more technical people can help out with alternatives !
I have Protx & 3D secure enabled.
This is the visa form that is returned - embeded into the site design once card details have been entered on the payment page before:
I dont think it's put customers off - I posted a walk through & explanation of why it was necessary when it went live last year. tbh I think any delay in purchashing carries a risk, but I haven't had any queries or complaints .. yet lol
So the way you have it set up the customers doesnt see a pop up window is that correct ?
I personally have pop ups blocked so would want something that was accessible to everyone regardless .. the backend technical stuff is beyond me though
