Default Web Plus X2 Shopping Cart Form

Can anyone help me at all?

I am currently building a website for my partners candle making business so i decided to use WebPlus X2's site builder.

I am having trouble configuring the shopping cart. Heres what I have done: For each item to be sold I have created a shopping cart form with a view cart option. With each form i have included a cost for shipping and packaging and also an amount the be added for repeat orders of the same candle.

Here is the tricky bit: If you continue shopping and add to the order with a different candle, it adds another full amount for shipping (which i dont want) I just want it to add the repeat amount.

The other option is, to overide the shipping in the paypal configuration section which ignores the shipping values on each form and adds one final shipping price to the whole order, but this is not really any good because it doesn't cover heavy orders, and you don;t see the shipping and packing charge until you log onto the paypal site, when you finally go to pay.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is the cart not capable of calculating the shipping weight based on the total weight of each item?

You're better off asking in their forums.

Third option - ditch the software and use an\OScomerce base product, Magento, joomla/virtuemart etc.

Goto www.testacart.com and play with the back end of ome of those carts..

THIS is why I have always said,
Before you touch a keyboard, draft out on paper the selling process in a flow chart, and list every single element and eventuality for that process.

Doing the above will provide you with a checklist for your website, and prevent problems like this and other incompatibility issues with shopping carts etc from arising.

Not all shopping carts can handle overall weight pricing.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think the shopping cart built into the web site builder is quite limited and so i'm going to look elsewhere to handle the e-commerce side of the site.
