Wasn't it NASA that said the human race is responcible for less then 1% of the CO2 released into the atmosphere?

For the last few years those of us in the air con and refrigeration trade have been told its us and our naughty gasses that are to blame for global warming.

There was a big research programme into the effects of these gasses on the atmosphere and it found them to be very harmful. So it was decided to phase them out and replace them with new gasses developed by big US chemical companies.

    Now... Concider this.
The people who put the money into the research were the company that held the rights to the harmful gasses and were makeing billions by licenceing the gasses to be produced by other chemical companies. The agreed phase out of these "bad gasses" will co-inside with the date that the exclusivity rights will pass meaning there would have been no revenue in licenceing the production of the "bad gas".

Can you guess who had already developed some replacement gasses for the bad gasses? Yes! The same firm who developed the origional "bad gas" then funded the research into proveing it to be so bad will now be able to licence production of there new eco friendly gas.

To me the whole thing is a con, but it all happens so many pay grades above my influence that I feel all I can do is comply while it all goes on!

I might stick "Eco" on all my products i sell and bump the prices up 25%, don't see why i should get left behind.

For the past 10 years Europe has spent billions of taxpayers money on trying to preven the rainforests from being torn down, Billions of Euros spent, on what exactly??? They are still doining it

When you have these countries which depend on the export of timber as their countries sole means of export, what are they expected to do if they can't do that?? and what right does it give us to tell a country what it can or can't do.

We're mugs in the UK, We pay the most into this corupt Eu than any other country, and what do we get back??

Gobal Warming is a new way to tax us even futher, Its not going to change in our lifetime and it will probably never change when we have countries like China, Russia, The US and India ignoring all the facts.

Instead people like us are being treated like mugs by our own government and made to pay the costs for this scam, can the government hostestly say that the money they collect in Green Taxes is being wasted on an issue which can never be solved.

Its now rumoured that gas and electric bills for the average sized house will jump up to £5000 a year as a result of Browns commitment to cutting CO2 emmissions

What will happen is that UK industries will fail as a result of buyers sourcing their products cheaper elsewhere.

Millions of people will lose their jobs as a result of Browns quest to cut the UKs carbon emissions more that any other country in the world. UK businesses will be shut down as buyers source products from cheaper countries like China and India, who will no doubt increase their CO2 footprint at our expense.

This has now got to the stage where its just about showing off and making claims which will no doubt cripple the UK.

Millions of pounds will be created as a result of more Green taxes, raise to fund these crackpot ideas.

The Eco - Carbon Footprint industry is worth Billions and a lot of people are getting rich as a result, what has turn out as a genuine concern for the enviroment has now morphed into a greedy tax guzzling enterprise, complete with Coruption, Back-handers with the belief that if we pay more we'll save the planet

Its not going to be long before the people see this for what its really worth, rather than trying to save the planet.

I'm leaving my TV on all night in protest!!

I think Brown is just thinking about the General Election and jumping on the green bandwagon. He knows it will appeal to the general public if he says that Labour wants to cut carbon emmissions by x amount and fight to stop Global Warming. After the election (if he wins), he may change his policy slightly .

Ha ha That made me laugh

He's going to bankrupt this country further with these green taxes, In the begining people didn't mind paying a bit extra to save the planet but when they've been paying through the nose for years, getting fines and criminal record for such green offences like leaving your bin lid open, its little short of theft.

What have we got to show for the billions labour have taxed us over the past 12 years?? New power stations??

People are getting angry, that for years they've been paying loads and to date we've not seen any result or any real improvements. No matter how much we try and save our carbon footprint, no matter how many millions we WASTE on so called green issues, the fact still remains the UK as a whole will never ever make a slight bit of difference to the global warming issues as long as there are countries who just don't give a dam.

Its all a con and we're getting mugged

After the election (if he wins), he may change his policy slightly

Minus 18 in most parts of the UK last night, Lets get Gobal Warming back on track and melt this snow

Everyone leave your TV's on all night and go and buy a Range rover

If we were to believe everything the goverment says then we would be basking in Tropical Sun, Not having a mega Freeze

The Eco fanatics would argue that this is the way forward, by not if its on their back door.

We need to get a grip in this country and start build more nuclear power stations giving us, clean steady flow of electricity for the next 30 or 40 years, But we cant move forward, we're moving backwards with every green from Criminal Records and fines for leaving your bin out on the wrong day to being force to use pathetic low engery bulbs which are dim and can affect peoples heath.

Plus Brown has now said he's giving the EU 1.5 Billion of our money, where from?? From the NHS, From Education?? I guess he makes it up as he goes along, unless they have a monopoly printing machine in No 10's Cellar

We could make the planet better and save billions of tons of co2 if we wanted but the government choose not to, and instead use the excuse to blame us for it, to tax us and fine us.

Its the biggist load of Poop i've heard in a long time, and can't believe we're all falling for it
I agree 100% .. i never fell for it by the way

Nothing that we do in this country will have any effect on a global scale unless China , The US, Russia and India get their finger out.

The fact with the large ships, yes it ok to let them destroy the earth, otherwise the price of goods will go up???

So its better to have climate change, cheaper goods and green taxes galore, all becuase the shipping companys are raking in billions each year burning this crap fuel.

Its never ever going to work by trying to make the guy in the street feel guilty, It the individuals that run the countries that have to make a stand and whilst they don't the earth will suffer, for sure, we as citizens of the UK cannot make one iota of a diffence dispite what we are lead to believe.

You watch in the next few months, here in the UK there will me loads of new green taxes to pay for Browns idiotic 1.5 billion giveaway of taxpayers money, He has to do it like that because we're already owing 800 billion of national debt.

Climate change, and the green issue is just another smokescreen to introduce more taxes in the UK. Whatever money we make in the UK we seem to be keen to give it away, we need to stop all this and re invest back in the UK.

Why for example are we still giving India 500 million pounds worth of aid every year, they must be rolling in it, they've just started their own space programe?? No thats one of the countries that just don't give a hoot about climate change

Its almost like a conspiracy to make the UK into a third world country, and to think 100 years ago we had an empire
I said it was a deliberate run the Country to the dogs 6 years ago , nobody believed me then either ..

we are now 25th in the league table . and dropping like a stone ..

I missed this thread before ..

    explain??

It works that way more, than by turning people into criminals and fining them rediculous amounts of money all in the name of Global Warming.

Look at what Brown has decided to do next, raise everyones engergy bills to pay for more bloody wind turbines, to make Free Electric?? But its not Free to us, The engergy company are still ripping us off with the highest engergy bills in europe. Soon we'll be paying £5000 a year for this crackpot scheme.

So why does the government feel the need to get itself into another diabolical sideline running wind turbines insteal of running this country.

Climate change is looking at the climate over a much longer period than just a few years or even 30 years. It looks at periods of a hundred years or more. There will always be extreme weather conditions. Many years research has shown that the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has increased along with Global Warming.

Punched a couple of times you have mentioned about £5000 for energy bills - Where have you got this figure from? From what I understand this may be the case in many years to come the period I have looked at seems to suggest 2020. This is due to lack of fuel, paying for green energy to be implemented and inflation.

Energy saving is not just about reducing your carbon footprint and trying to help the government hit their targets. It is also about saving yourself money on electricity and gas.
