    Default Copenhagen climate change summit

What do you make out of this?? all the worlds leaders gather round and the carbon footprint goes off the scale, again

What brown has commited to this farce is 1.5 Billion of UK Taxpayers money to a EU fund to combat Global Warming. This will be used for the poorer countries to tackle climate change, But the ideal solution would be if they raised their Petrol duty to £5 per gallon like us, they we wouldn't have to keep giving all the time, and they could afford to do something themselves.

You know the EU, which for the past 15 years has been unable to balance it books because of widespread fraud, so nice one Gordon

France and Germany which happen to be about 2 or 3 times larger have commited 1.2 billion yeah right !!

The Real problem lies with the US, Russia, China and India, who carry on as if nothing matters, and us, a little island will raise taxes, and pay our green taxes through the nose all for the sake of making this theiving govenment some extra cash, saying that by taxing us more will save the world is the biggest load of poop i've heard in a long time.

12 years ago if some said to me "Leave your wheelie bin lid open and get a criminal record" i would of laughed at him, Now i'm frightened to leave my fingerprints on the bin !!

Am i the only one seeing this???

It's a big shame really as the cause is a good one. We just happen to have people running it at our end who really shouldn't be allowed to run a raffle at a local school let alone anything else.

I'm sure over the next 10 years there will be another 10-20 taxes on things to make us all greener..

I see there's a good calibre of people on here.

Death and Taxes...two certainties. If the Gov have it their way, Climate will be responsible for both.

    Cheers for that Skeeter

Nice to see there are some like minded folk on board, have joined your linkedin thingy

Would also be cool to get some reponses from the more "Eco Aware" members on here, Is this really the way we'll make the planet better??

Its all smoke and mirrors if you ask me, there is so much the government can do to stop global warming but refuse to?? why - Take the Bunker fuel post earlier, By stopping these ships burning this evil fuel, they've wiped out all the carbon emmissions, as much as 800 million cars, but they won't.

Its about raising money, gaining taxes.

I bet you guys didn't know for the past 3 years the chinese have been building a coal fired power station every week!! to cope with their mass production lines, will this come up in the summit?? No way, but you can count your pretty little cotton socks that they'll be discussing ways to criminalise the average man in the street with something to go with climate change

Soon it will be like this.....

    Policeman:

"As i appoached the street where the accused lives i was horrified when i noticed the accused wheelie bin was positioned 2.75mm on the skew, with the lid being open by 3.87mm. I hereby arrested the gentleman under the prevention of terrorisim and climate change, and told him i was giving him a fine of £5,000 or 6 months in prision."

    Hmmm,

one of our quotas is to encourage our contributors to think about the "green" element before they submit with us. It gives us fuel to push an environmentally sound message to small business...who are left unregulated.

    I agree with you.

I think you need to get you business staffed-up and then me and you can change the world together. It's the only way.

I've met some great people so far.

I get told off if I write in "plain english"...I have two things to say, as always:

    1. Get on with it...Make it happen
    2. Sort it out and stop '£$%! ing about

It's taken a long time for me to manouver round to be able to do what I think is right. And it's about time all the (little, being people like us) enterprising people started to explain things how they are.

I am thinking of a political party called "Plain English Party". Big Pete, will stand no doubt.

    LOL.

We need to get this Green Issue and Climate change into perspective, for the past 12 years we've been closing down and de commissioning our powerstations for not beeing green enough, but are we replacing them, no not a single one, Instead we destroy the countryside with massive wind turbines costing 3 million each to give us a fraction of the power output, and since its free power have our electric bills got any cheaper

The Eco fanatics would argue that this is the way forward, by not if its on their back door.

We need to get a grip in this country and start build more nuclear power stations giving us, clean steady flow of electricity for the next 30 or 40 years, But we cant move forward, we're moving backwards with every green from Criminal Records and fines for leaving your bin out on the wrong day to being force to use pathetic low engery bulbs which are dim and can affect peoples heath.

Plus Brown has now said he's giving the EU 1.5 Billion of our money, where from?? From the NHS, From Education?? I guess he makes it up as he goes along, unless they have a monopoly printing machine in No 10's Cellar

We could make the planet better and save billions of tons of co2 if we wanted but the government choose not to, and instead use the excuse to blame us for it, to tax us and fine us.

Its the biggist load of Poop i've heard in a long time, and can't believe we're all falling for it
