We have been asked to produce a Hamper with an Eco theme, to include any products from the ecology friendly, organic, ethically sourced, fair trade categories.
It will be featured in a major publication and website in November for the Christmas season. Ideally food products, but not necessary. We also need an environmentally friendly Hamper/Wooden Boxes.
If anyone can help with any of the products and would like to be featured, please contact me.
The hamper will be for sale ove the Christmas period via our website. With the publicity the forecast would be high.
The publication has a high end readership base, however I have not worked out the price of the Hamper as yet - depends upon the products available. I am looking for a unique range of products.
I am interested to know more about your service....

One of the points that often comes up with ethical, organic, fairtrade, etc products is that they usually cost a significant amount more than the non-eco alternatives. I think you should aim to make the hamper of a similar price to equivalent hampers, so that it does not appear to be a luxury item. A lot more people would choose an eco-friendly hamper if they thought they were not paying extra for the privilege. I know it might not be possible, but it would help to make it more competitive.
Yes I agree with your comments regarding the price of organic/eco friendly products, the supermarkets have not helped the industry by increasing profit margin on the product range. People assume they will be charged more for all products. Where it is not an issue with some, many people simply cannot/will not pay the extra. This particular product will be featured in a high end magazine, so price will not be as big a factor as its originality, contents and appearance.
We are asked for particular dietry requirements from time to time. I will store your details coe114c and give some thought to a new website section based on this service.

The price thing is a massive issue, but to me it is also a non issue, ethically sourced foods and the like generally cost a little more purely as they are not ripping people off (as much ) as others. they cost more to produce, or take longer to progress naturally or the growers are given fair prices
From my experiance most of the people who complain about such prices are the ones who seem to have their priorities wrong. Like on the old Chicken Out campaign, the mother who said she couldnt afford not to buy the "2 for a fiver" chickens did have 2 2ltr bottles of Coke in her trolley and (it was claimed, no idea if its true) smoked.
Its the old addage - you pay peanuts you get monkeys. I wouldn't neccessarily agree that you should price this to compete with non ethic/eco/organic ones as, personally, i think its a different market of people
