    Default Virtually waterless washing machine

    Have you seen this:

would you use one or would it depend on the environmental impact of the producing and disposing of the plastic chips?

Lookks great Sal but I see what you mean about the plastic chips- seems a bit pointless saving water but then using all the engergy saved to make disposable chips in plastic

Wouldn't the salt clog the machine up?

Women here still wash clothes in the river ..... although if you look at the river it may not get them very clean

I have had a Dyson washing machine for nearly 5 years. It cost me £600.

I paid a bit more than average machine at say £350, because the one I had caught fire had to call fire brigade an hour after putting some washing in. I had left the kids (14 & 16) in bed and would have normally gone to work but I had this day off work. Luckily.

I can put in twice as much washing in the Dyson, it uses something like a 1/3 less electric and a 1/4 less water (or that may be the other way around but no matter) than a standard washing machine and they come out to repair and service it for free, with free spare parts, and I can call at 10pm and some one can be at my house as early as 8am. Used this twice now and not paid a bean. I took out no extra warranty either.

The call centre tell me the engineer will phone me an hour before arriving. He rings exactly one hour before to confirm the exact time of arrival and he arrives bang on time. He is clean, tidy and polite and informative. Highly recommended til this chip n wash comes out!
