Default PC Speeds and Unwanted data

Reproduced with permission from another forum I visit:

In order to speed up your PC, and also prevent problems with cookies etc among other things, this program is a great aid, it was once merely called "Crap Cleaner", and it does just that. Simply click on this link;

http://www.filehippo.com/download/9e...c693/download/

This will start the download. When the download is finished, Install the program and simply start it. ( Just click on the downloaded file).

If you see the program deleting huge chunks of stuff DON`T PANIC! this is perfectly normal. If you have not used a program like this before, and are just a "normal" computer user, then your PC will be stuffed full of crap!

In order to run properly, your machine does require some maintenance. Doing some of this maintenance "per hand", using native operating system programs can be difficult and time consuming, and some things are well nigh impossible anyway without special programs. There are however some relatively good and easy solutions for this, and here is one of them:

http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindows...l?Str=download

Just download and install it, and run it. It will keep your PC in optimal condition automatically. On most of the machines where I have it installed, it runs once a week.

When you install it, if you don?t want any toolbars etc, then either check or uncheck the appropriate boxes.

That was it! This program will find and repair most common problems, bottlenecks, or incorrect setups.

If you want to speed it up even more, and also prevent wear and tear on your hard disc, ( will also reduce noise considerably) then download this;

http://www.download.com/Auslogics-Di...=dl&tag=button

It is also free, very fast and very good. ( Donīt download any of their other stuff though! )

Run it at least once a week after you have run Crap cleaner.

If you have never run a defragmenting program before, it may take a little while the first time you run it, as your discs may be badly fragmented.

( There is such a program in most systems, but hardly anybody uses them, and they tend to be very slow indeed).

I have used all of these products and not had an issue with them - they are known to be virus free as of today.

Not sure about Vista but it works on XP

I can't see why it wouldn't but try and download - there will be a prompt if it doesn't work.

A restore point is created for you anyway so that you can roll back the pc/laptop of required.
