New posts feature still not right

I always like to go and see what I have posted straight after posting.
I also quickly flick through threads and then go back to them after.

As Ray says, the New Posts is really dissorientating.
I'm surprised anyone uses it, but this thread obviously proves I am wrong.

I think we experimented with the New Posts setting a few days after going live - and by changing it to also isplay read posts broke something else IIRC - it's mentioned in a very early thread in Feedback somewhere - I'll see if i can find it

Use "Todays posts" instead and the posts you have already read don't
dissapear, they just are not bolded until a new post appears in them.

Well I use the 'new posts' all the time and 'todays posts' only occasionally. I guess it depends on the frequency you visit like Phil said earlier in the thread.
