would be opening a franchise of one of my main spell suppliers. They offer a franchise oportunity but in the real world what is the chances of it being as popular as I think it would be.
I did visit their shop in Stratford only to find it disappointing and knowing I could do loads better
Anybody else got any dreams of owning a branch of a favourite shop or has anyone actually done it?

Is this in Stratford-upon-Avon? If so which shop is it? I live near there and would be intrigued to go and have a look. Not that this would be of the slightest help in answering your question........

Yes it is on Henley Street right at the top (NOT near the river end)
It is called The Creaky Cauldron - maybe I was hopeing it was going to be fantastic as their products are but alas no :sad1:

Yes I know - near Shakespeare's Birthplace. Just round the corner from my favourite (non touristy) tea room.
Next time I'm there I'll give it the once over.

We have one in Norwich tucked away in a back street, it never seems to be busy.
I would love to win the lottery and have my own shop and I just know it will be all magical and mystical and a great success as I will be there

You have hit the nail on the head there, "because you will be".
My first tack shop was in a tiny village (literally two streets) and the big towns had some big tack shops. Everyone laughed at me and waited for the closing down sale .... but when I sold it I got one hell of a profit. My second shop was exactly the same, Business Link told me I couldn't possibly start without £50k of stock, so I started with £6 and it was a great success, I even put the BIG rich shop 2 miles away out of business because I cared about my shop and it's customers.
Your personality and your belief in your products can make customer loyalty, can keep them coming back to visit you even when they don't need anything. You adapt your stock as you go along, you add in smelly candles and pot pourri so people will buy even when they have no interest in witchcraft but just like looking around your shop, add some fun .... I just know you would be fabulous at it.

I have mentally designed my shop already, personally I just want to feel and handle all the great stuff I sell. I hate using dropshippers :sad1: for that reason alone.
Cambridge would be a great place to have a shop I think......
Now I'm getting all carried away with it
