Hello,

As a note to all businesses that have over 5 employees we have just taken up a business link grant that gives us £500.00 to better ourselves online through training.

It was a simple process only 2 forms to fill in and hay presto i was able to claim the money back i have spent.


I just have to do a load of work on our sites content and article writing !! and thats just to start.

I know that this money was based on me being based in Gloucestershire but im sure other counties and regions will be running a similar scheme - check it out.

All Business Links do differ, but everyone should be checking out what grants or funding could be available. Sometimes there are hoops to jump through, and sometimes its quite simple.

Quite often BL insist on using their preferred suppliers and will also not pay out retrospectively, so always get approval before buying/paying for something in the hope you will get paid out. Sometimes they might pay the suppliers direct, or on production of the paid invoice, will pay you.

When I used to run BL start up funding contracts, we got a couple of clients who were disappointed after rushing out to pay for things or ordering from whoever they liked, only to find our BL conditions meant they had to use someone from our approved list, and paid according to the contract criteria that we had to stick to in order for us to draw down the money in the first place. And if the paperwork didnt tie up in an audit afterwards, it would get rejected (though that never happened to us s we never processed any funding claims that were not valid) but that never stopped people trying it on!

There are sometimes other business grants and loans out available to local businesses, I know there are a couple where I live so best thing to do is contact your local council and find out what's available.
