Default New Telephone System - Please advise urgent

Hello,

I am looking for a telephone service provider that is not VOIP. I need PBX type facility. Can you tell me who you are using. Would you recommend them? Who should I avoid!

A bonus would be an unlimited UK calls package.

I have used BT Versatility in the past.

I need to take a decision by tomorrow.

Thanks.

You will need to have 2 incoming lines provided by BT or your Telephone service provider, and then you can have upto 6 internal phones, you will be able to dial out with 2 at anyone time.

Basically you connect the PBX box to your two incoming lines and then you run extensions (6 of them) from the box to whatever room you want :thumbup1:

As all the phones and the box belong to you all you pay are for the 2 incoming line rentals. Saves you £££'s in rental charges

if you move - take it with you !!

Thanks. I will seriously consider that.

Out of interest - have you heard of the BT FeatureLine service? Do you know if it allows several incoming and/or outgoing calls at once? Doesn't say anything about that one their site.

When you say several incoming/outgoing calls you are rescrited to the amount of phone lines you have, If you have 2 lines then you will only be able to use 2 at anyone time, if you have 10 incoming lines you will be able to make/recieave 10 calls at once, see what i mean??

Everything you can get with BT featureline you can do with that Maplin system

http://www.productsupport.bt.com/featureline/fqs1.htm

You need to remember the more lines you have the more line rental you will pay

OK. I saw this one on maplin that handles 4 lines at once: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?moduleno=353325

Sorry to be a pain. So, all I need is a business telephone line from BT that has 4 lines on one number. Or should I just order four independent BT lines and just connect it to this box. I need people to be able to dial one number and for all the phones to ring.

You can have 1 number and upto 4 people will be able to call at once (4 lines) :thumbup1:

Don't order 4 new numbers as the line rental will cripple you. Just seen that one at maplin, its not a bad price for what it can do :thumbup1:

for more details on BT lines etc see here http://business.bt.com/phone-service...hone-line/faqs

To make 4 simultaneous calls using traditional telephony, you need 4 exchange lines or 2x2 ISDN lines.

I really recommend that you do not make a decision before you know what you need - you will inevitably get it wrong and commit to a lengthy contract.

btw why not VoIP?

Hello CJD.

I am currently a Voipfone customer. I just got three Snom300's delivered yesterday. Although your guys have been helpful, I am getting a lot of cracking. Your tech support has been helpful so far, however, I have now decided to return the phones and get a refund. I would rather not move - if I didn't have to. I don't really have anything bad to say about your company so far, I just hope the return process is as smooth as the purchase process. I know it works fine for some, it just didn't work well for me.
