Just a quick question here folks. Need a speedy answer if possible.
Eternally grateful.
Question :
For a commercial flyer aimed at the educational sector (not sure if this info is needed but its here anyway), is there a min amount of information you have to detail on the flyer regarding the company it came from.
Any legal implications? Say I only want to quote the company name, email and URL address of the printed flyer - would this be ok or is the company legally bound to put all the details on ie company name, reg number, postal add etc.
If you're a limited company I'd advise that you should put all the information on that would be required on your stationery etc. I don't think it's illegal not to but it's good practice to do it and instills confidence in those receiving the flyer that they are dealing with professionals and not someone who set up yesterday and they have an address if things go wrong. I design flyers every day of the week and 99% of businesses do it this way. Is there any particular reason why your client doesn't want their details publishing?
I am not absolutely certain, but I think for a limited company or limited partnership the only requirement for that level of information is on stationery which constitutes a letter (which includes emails), plus a website.
This information at Companies House would seem to bear that out:
Both are correct above - there is no legal requirement to state full details apart from on company stationery (the letterhead) - so it's what gives the correct marketing image and conveys professionalism that matters on a Flyer
