Give your visitors every possible way to pay.we have printable order forms and a surprising amount of cheques and postal orders come through the post.
cover all the angles, and offer the method your visitor feels safest with.
remember a lot of people are not happy paying there hard earned to an a -non-e-mouse website and need the personal contact.
also a surprising amount of people have difficulty with online payment proccesses.
As a rough guide and of course this will vary with the type of business you are running.
With our dolls house business 50% will pay by phone if the order value is over £90.00 about 10% will pay by cheque or postal order.
and the rest online via Paypal.
again the smaller order values are more inclined to pay online.
Now again I have to stress we are in a particular market ,with a certain refined type of clientele.
Our jet ski business 80% pay over the phone ,due maybe to the technical advise that is often needed before purchase.
Again the volkswagen parts business is about 90% by phone again people like to make sure they get the right part and also may need technical assistance.
various other business we run tend to need personal contact by there nature and technicality.
again this is a very rough guide, and will probably not apply to known goods like CD's e.t.c.
For a commodity product eg (new car, upmarket computer) I guess reasonably common place
For anything else, probably not
....although I have frequently bought courses, DVDs , seminars and such like for that value and more without contact - but only when they come from a world respected figure.
