I have a plastic product (as you will see from my avatar), I need to know if any printers on here would be able to print a brand/logo onto them?
I need to print to the top face of the handle and also the side face.
I only need one pack done for now (2 handles) to take to a meeting with Tesco in May, so it needs to be impressive . After that it could lead to a bigger order (fingers crossed).
You need to look into hot foil stamping/blocking or screen printing. Also consider that not everything will stick to plastic. What polymer is the product made out of? The print surface has to be relatively flat.
Foil blocking - you will need to get a die made from a die maker. This would be the logo reversed. I recommend you make this die out of copper, magnesium or condensed rubber. These do not last a long manufacturing run but you should get a good several hundred out of them. Dies will cost you between £50 - £80. A jig will be required to hold it in place and then a printing press.
For screen printing - similar principle but a template is made to screen off the area you do not wish to print on.
Hope this helps. I am not sure if stationary printing companies you should be targeting for.
For presentation mock ups, I am sure that transparent labels are sufficient (obviously with their logo printed on the label). I'd imagine this to be the most cost effective method for your product to get past the presentation. They will just have to use their imagination.

My thoughts exactly. You could try transfers too if that's possible...

Is this a solid plastic or like a poly foam material
I would suggest that it could be 'hot foiled' but without knowing its construction would not like to commit to it
It would not be cost effective initially as you require 'plates' manufacturing - naturally once produced it is not a repeat expense

I thought the same as Khalid. For a meeting a prototype with transfers would be acceptable to demo. Any printer who provides car type graphics (which are pretty robust) would be able to help out, then when the order comes off you can call in the pros.
I would imagine something like dynotape machine would also suffice
you can get them in differing sizes and also colours
Black onto Clear
Red onto White
White onto Black
If you let me know what you want and the dimensions of the product I have a mchine and am happy to run something off and send it to you for FREE should you wish

I have a vinyl cutter but don't currently have and red vinyl. I could get some in if you wanted as this would be a cheap solution initially. As stated above, the vinyl is for the external car graphics so would do the job. It would be slightly raised but would give the required look. I have a pad printer as well as a hot foiling machine on the way but it will take us a couple of months before we get up and running. The pad printer can print any smooth, firm surface and does things like water bottles and pens etc.
If you did get your order from Tesco I would think you could eventually get them made up in bulk ready finished to you. Give you more time to count all your money.
Good luck,
Andrew

Thanks all for your replies it is very much appreciated, I did think of vinyl car type graphics but wasn't sure if I were able to get graphics cut that small.

Hello Pete,
The product is solid plastic using injection moulded process, if that helps

Many thanks for this offer Pete, that is very kind of you, not sure (even though this would only be a sample for the meeting) if dynotape would be the way to go. Although saying that, the only thing I can picture in my head is the little sticky tab that you would stamp your name into to put on your scouts name badge type of thing .
I would be interested in seeing what it would look like, I will give you the dimensions via PM soon
