Default Top Tips for Marketing your business

Hi,

I imagine we all have a few tips for how to get your business website noticed.

I thought maybe we could all try to post an idea or two each.

To get the ball rolling, heres a few of mine.

1) I put my website address on every envelope I send out (even bill payments). You never know who gets to see it and it costs nothing.

2) Someone I knew who was a regular at his local library used to put a slip into every book in one particular section that was relevent to his business!

So what are your thoughts?

Mike

have a link to your website in your email signature (an electronic version of putting your web address on every envelope you send out! )

Using the BACK of your business card to make an offer for an entry level product or service (generally the "free report" ) downloadable from website - that gives people a reason to come and look - most business cards only have contact details

The back of business cards is invaluable real estate! There should at very least be a USP and/or testimonial

Get your business well known online - relevant Forums are very effective for this

Get to know journalists if you can - I know several print industry journalists and they often contact me for a quote or to participate in an article

Good customer service can drastically improve your sales. If you go above and beyond the call of duty to provide a quality service you will find that customers will actually WANT to tell others about your business. Spend an extra hour on a client and you might just find that they'll forward another 1-2+ clients your way.

Pretty good ROI if you ask me.
