Ok, so considering all the stuff in the press and lots of hype about credit crunch I am interested to know all your thoughts on this.
For me I am lucky enough to currently have a very full diary (too full actually) and yet I am getting prospective customers haggling and trying to negotiate silly reductions in prices purely on the basis of the credit crunch and that is exactly what they are saying... that they have a budget they have to stick to because of the credit crunch... or they want to negotiate a good deal because of the credit crunch and they are talking to competitors who are prepared to offer more discount because they want the work.
At the moment I am standing my ground with only very small goodwill gestures given as price discounts in the way that I would do usually if a prospect wanted to haggle for a good deal regardless of any credit crunch!
I realise that I might not be this busy in the next few months but at the moment dont believe there is any reason to give discounts on this basis and I think it is quite cheeky for customers to openly jump on the bandwagon.
What are your thoughts? Anyone else experiencing the same?
Did have one potential customer try and dictate prices recently. Needless to say they didn't become a customer
However, the credit crunch is real and we haven't even scratched the surface yet. Unemployment is the next stage - as company profits continue to suffer - then the fun really starts.
