Default Recession busting challenge!- 10% more profit this week

With all this doom and gloom....thought I would throw down a challenge, to increase sales 10% in one week

Here is how it can be done...
How? All you have to do is two on this list:

(a) Get 5% more to come to your site
(b) Get 5% more of them to read your site
(c) Get 5% more of them to buy having read
(d) Get them to buy 5% more
(e) Get 5% less to abandon without buying
(f) Get them to comeback 5% more often

Impossible? No! - that list adds up to 30% not 10% -
So there is a choice.

(b) and (d) are proven to be easy! - either can do this by themselves.

And I am betting every business can do at least 2 of them!

Start by making the most of the traffic you have.....

EASY PICKINGS

(b) - Get More of them to read your site
Unless they read , they wont buy!

It is a fact that headlines make a massive difference
to sales , whatever you sell - I have seen cases of 3000% increaes, not just 5%

So test a new benefit headline!!

So if you sell websites or designs, dont say....
"Welcome to xxxx"

Draw out your biggest benefit and make it a headline promise..
"Designs you love GUARANTEED
we keep working until you are happy!

This is our unique guarantee....

Any of the classic headlines....will do

"Dont buy a website until you have read this
not all designers are the same!"
Or
"Do you make these mistakes with your website?"
Or
"Turn your website into money"

Any of those will beat the name of the company or "welcome"
If you want to know which worked best - use adwords and two landing pages as an easy way to split test and see which buys more!

(d) - Get them to buy 5% more....

Easy meat!!!

Add an upsell of something of around 40-50% of the order value as
something they can include in the sale...and as sure as eggs is eggs
SOME of them will buy

Use a compelling message on the order page including the word

WAIT!!! - Before you buy etc etc...
And just for good measure put another one on the thank you page...


OTHERS !

(c) - get 5% more of them to buy

Lots of ways to do this with offers, guarantees, me and you copy,
limited time bonus - but here is something all of you can try.

Two things to focus on.
>If you dont have a call to action - shame on you! Put one in
and offer a bonus for an order this week!!

But here is a simple trick to try
>If you have an order button - change it to a HYPERLINK
which expresses a benefit in the text...eg

Get Guaranteed designs here
Most of the testing says it works better.

>And if you already do all of that then RESTATE your benefits
and guarantee on the order page....


(e) Get 5% less to abandon....

Use an shopping cart exitpopup with a downsell!!!

Offer stripped down version of your product or service and
chuck in an extra incentive...some will buy!


(f) Get them to come back 5% more often...

If you arent emailing your existing customers you should be!
And if you arent offering something for signups you should

And if you are doing bothtry this....

Once every couple of weeks, put in an offer which is not on the
menu and use the hidden page trick..

"Please dont tell anyone else about this...for my best customers only"

A special offer for my best customers only - hidden on my website
..link into the hidden page...

Whether or not they buy this - they are still coming back, and
every time they come back, they may buy


(a) Traffic - lots of suggestions for an increase.


Social media , Video , Back door adwords all can do this in a week
To make it more of a challenge - let us say we want to do this for free!

Here is ONE way to try do this.
Create an article with a title that qualifies customers..
eg

"How to choose an xxxxx - what to look out for - and what can go wrong"
or
"The 3 worst mistakes in choosing an xxxx"


Choose xxxx as a keyword term with traffic but niche enough to
avoid overwhelming competition
.
Make sure it is Good content - with a link to your site for that product or service.

You can Post the article on your website.....or blog
Better still on a traffic hub like squidoo or hubpages

[You can even get rankings if you put it on a sie like tumblr
You could put it on ezinearticles - but traffic takes longer]

Then promote that page on
Stumbleupon, netscape and digg...

Traffic appears same day.

I'd be interested to hear from anyone who said "great post" or added a thankyou what you have done with the info Admagic posted in the initial post.

I can tell you even an upsell on the thankyou page after the customer orders will also generate perhaps a 30% response - try that one - it affects nothing in your front end offer or website...
