I find many small business owners don't actually know if their own company is "ltd" or "limited" as they use them both interchangeably.

It really personal preference, I tend to prefer "Limited" especially on short names where
"Ltd" always look a bit odd to me. On very long names tacking Limited on the end tends to look fussy to me but again thats just me.

For the record own company is Limited.

Limited can be abbreviated to Ltd, but strictly Ltd cannot be expanded to Limited, so registering Limited does give you more flexibility.

I slightly prefer Limited. It makes it look like you do not cut corners.
