I don't know how realistic this is, but the idea is the formation of an A1 Electricity buying consortium, that members here can join in on, with the aim that if we collectively work as a unit, we can negotiate a better price overall for our electricity supplies.
Put simply we would combine the 'members' electricity usage and then ask electricity company suppliers to tender a price for all the members to switch for a set period, the electricity companies would be aware that membership would grow through the period offering them yet more business and more reason to offer a better discount.
Brill idea f you think it'll work John. I'm paying nearly a hundred quid a month now and there's only me and my lad here which is absolutely shockin! I'm defo in favour! Shame we can't do that for petrol prices too!
Fuzzy in can we do this with HMRC and get a discount

Well, why not send as many Christmas ecards as you like for only £5.99, save a fortune, put your company name on the message and be green at the same time
Count me in, I'm currently paying about £100 a month for a one bed house (all electric tho) :sad1:
I'm dreading what it will be when we move into the bigger place

Perhaps we can, large companies have a discount scheme based on loyalty and total usage. But if enough businesses are interested, lets work it through one step at a time and see what we can achieve together.

don't know Fuz, although I do have my dryer on a lot and run 4 computers most of which are on all day so I guess that's why! Did any of you watch that programme the other night on cutting down your bills with that over active gob in it (forgot his name), such crap! They had this woman on it who had cut her energy consumption to £5 per year by having solar panels all over her roof which cost her 20k- oh to have 20k to have your bloomin roof panelled eh! I don't carry spare change like that around with me personally or have it anywhere else for that matter lol!!!
I'd be interested too - just phoned through our meter readings to ask for an updated bill and I'm dreading it arriving :sad1:
We used to live in a village that didn't have any gas pipes - all 300 homes had oil-fired central heating, so a couple of people set up a buying consortium which got the whole village a great deal (from memory, think it was around 30% cheaper than buying individually). It's been running for years without any problems.

Are we talking about business premises here or domestic or both?
