Default uh oh, UKPLC to go bankrupt

so the 40% rule Gordon Brown brought in (can't borrow more than 40% of national income) is set to be pushed aside as the mess they have brought upon themselves means less tax revenues so they're going to have to borrow even more.

- less stamp duty because no housing market (their own fault because of making stamp duty up to 5 times more expensive and introducing HIPS)
- cock up on 10% tax rate compensation cost £2bn + not budgeted

You name it.

So if you thought this would be a short period of hardship, think again :sad1:

The current team cannot sort this. Because they cant be honest about it. It would require some tough, sound financial management, and taking a look at the current balance sheet, I think the current guys cant deliver it. The problem is...who can!!?

Yes, I was stunned so I wrote the post whilst watching the news.

We have the biggest debts of any western nation - this is not a mess of global making - this is a mess made by the current government.

I knew this would happen way back on that fateful day in 1997. 'Well done' the idiots who voted this lot in.

So UKPLC is in a mess purely because of the government? Nothing to do with the population in general living beyond their means, salivating over anything involving bricks, shopping for kicks etc etc. Come on, it's not all the fault of the government. They have messed up I'd agree but they are not totally to blame. IMHO.

To be fair, this lot are expert at just one thing. Which is having their snouts well and truly in the trough and screwing the system for personal gain.

I personally think Blair should be jailed for taking out a £300000 mortgage on a £100000 durham home a mortgage funded by the taxpayer and trousering the £200000!

I dont care whether it meets the letter of the law...their should be an override that says that any use of the rules for personal gain rather than defraying the necessary costs of office is by defiinition corruption.

Anywhere else but the UK, they would call that Fraud and corruption. If anyone tried any similar tricks on benefits, they would be jailed without the option.

What memories huh!!! Two jags prescott saying that people should use public transport, and three houses meacher, saying that people should not have second homes. And then smoothing the way for their mates the hindujas.. and dear old bernie eccleston

But then labour sleaze goes back a long way....who remembers T Dan Smith, and Poulson And Reggie Maudling? using commons notepaper to defraud the cypriot taxpyper ..the brass neck of it all! - so the present lot had good teachers.

Hmmm, well, the government has a regulator for these types of things...

As far as I am aware, the government runs this country and they have had every opportunity to sort things out, but they haven't and here we are in a very bad situation...

Britain is in a fairly dire state currently, caused by 10 years of incompetence and a political regime that cares more about making sure we are told when to breathe than about running a country.

But we have been here before, in the late 70's Britain was on it's knees. It was hard but with strong leadership, tough financial disciplines Britain was resurrected. And it needs those same strengths of leadership to pull this country back up on to it's feet.

Sadly this tail coating Government haven't got the gall to tackle anything that might involve in building this countries strengths, they lack business principles and disciplines of handling the countries finances. They lack the guts to stand up to Europe and they lack the morality of protecting anyone but their own.

If Mr Brown or Mr Blair had taken over Google instead of the UK, they would most certainly of found a way to milk the income for ten years while quietly helping Yahoo become the dominant search engine.

As ever, it will be left to others to pick up the pieces of the British economy when finally yet another Labour promise passes to be nothing more than a gravy train hitting the bumpers at full speed!

(Sorry...I normally avoid politics on here!)

Blair must be laughing all the way to the bank... He could see the cracks appearing, and that the tower of cards could not be propped up any longer...so he did a runner and managed to give gordon the blame.
