Default Will a mobile phone do what I want?

Hi

Anticipating probs in the school holidays, of looking after kids and having to be seperated from my PC.

Can I find a mobile that I can access and manage my website through? And that will let me collect me emails. I need something that does the web as you see it on the PC, and not all that wappy stuff.

Doesn't have to be a tiny phone etc, but I do need to run it off a Vodafone contract.

Any advice????

Many thanks
Sandra

Depends on what you want to manage on your site. If it is just order processing then the Nokia N95, Black Berry or even the iPhone will be able to do this. Not sure if you can connect these to a PC or not.

How about a PDA?

It would be the admin interface for the MSSQL database etc. I can use ANY PC so if I can access full webpages, then it should be OK?

It can do what ever you want providing you add a data subscription, about £6 per month which should be enough, else you will be paying through the nose. I have 3G on my phone, so I have use GPS navigation, but manage our hosting through a phone control panel, it sends me an email when someone has signed up for hosting, I then activate the server to be deployed using my phone, so I don't have to be at a desktop to do it.

Requires a bit of development on some software, to securely access your site admin in a phone, but do-able.
