Default Business forecast in 5 years time

Where do you see your business in 5 years time? How do you fit in that vision?

In 5 years time I would like see the business expanding into new areas, perhaps working on some branded products, and also looking towards the import and wholesale markets.

Myself, I would be hoping to be taking a steady income, taking on some part-time employees allowing me time for another child, and to be running the business from somewhere down south

Thanks Laura - nice vision...work hard (as you do) and you'll get there in the end.

    Any more? .....

Working hard does not always work.

Thinking hard is a much better bet,

That's a good question, you know what I have no idea.

I created a business plan on startup for my bank to justify an overdraft that I have never used. It said expected turnover in year 1 was £130,000.00 at the end of year 1 I turned over £750,000.00 it took ages to create it and I blew it out of the window in the first couple of months. year 4 now, 1.8 million turnover and plenty of changes which I expect to more than double turnover next year so 5 years is too far away for me, by then hopefully I will have sold and be working on another project.

That's great going Andy! So how did you manage to underestimate your turnover figures? Not that anyone's complaining mind you!

I looked at how many estimated customers would come to me and how many I could cope with, then estimated their average spend.

I didn't expect to have to turn away customers in the first couple of months. All my work came from word of mouth, I underestimated what people thought of me to be honest. Really good for me but played hell with the figures.

now I know I'm good hehe! and I am implementing a load of stuff to make our services even better

In five years, i'd like to be running an office with maybe 6-8 staff. I want to create an environment where staff enjoy coming to work, where work is fun etc

I have several ideas of staff benefits that aren't done by smaller businesses, but ones I think are essential for getting good staff on board for life.
