So another use is saving money! Why wait for a cheque to clear when you can use BACS, pay less bank charges and get the interest (such as it is) quicker?

The new procedures for instant funds transfer between banks (coming in on 27th May I think) will save you a bit more too.

How about just plain old Work? Does that already fall into the above categories if you're employed to do SEO or web design etc.?
