well it depends on who it is for.?

    so amounts vary considerably.

Think maybe you may need to define a bit more.

I mean last xmas the wife got a new broom.

and I got a new car.

    sounds about right to me.

looks like i spend the same as everyone else - good to see so far.

General rule of thumb for me:
Boyfriend - price depends on what it is he wants.
    Everyone else - £10

    Works for me!

Well the Pound shop has some great gift ideas. For the Mrs last birthday I even bought her 2 anti-perspirants. A red on and a blue one.

I think it really depends on how special the person is for you and how special the occasion is.
For my nephews and nieces, I usually buy them something that is less than 10$, but if it's their graduation and they got an award in school, I give them something that they really wish to have, even though it costs much expensive.

For my friends, I usually give them cards on their birthdays. Because I know it's the thought that counts..

We went out this morning to the bank, and popped in to buy a gift for a child of one of our friends. We spent £28 on some ben10 gear.

I don't really care about the cost of things (unless I dislike the person I HAVE to buy for)
